About the GMAT exam

The GMAT is an entrance exam that is widely used for admissions into MBA and other business graduate programs across the world. It’s a standardized exam used by many business schools as part of their admissions process. This exam tests verbal, quantitative, analytical writing, and integrated reasoning skills.

There are no strict eligibility requirements to take the GMAT exam. The GMAT does not have any eligibility criteria beyond having payment to register. The exam itself has no prerequisites. Candidates' scores and overall application packages will be evaluated by their target academic programs during admissions.

The exam is 3.5 hours long and consists of 80 multiple-choice questions. The passing score is 70%.

GMAT FAQ

How do I register for the GMAT exam? 
You can register for the GMAT exam online through the official website, mba.com. You'll need to create an account, select your preferred test date and location, and pay the exam fee.

What is the difference between the GMAT and the GRE? 
The GMAT is specifically designed for business school admissions, while the GRE (Graduate Record Examination) is a more general graduate school admissions test. Many business schools now accept both tests, but some may prefer one over the other.

Can I use a calculator on the GMAT exam? 
You cannot bring your own calculator to the GMAT exam. However, the test center will provide you with an on-screen calculator for the Integrated Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning sections.

What kind of questions are asked in the Verbal Reasoning section? 
The Verbal Reasoning section consists of three question types: Reading Comprehension, Critical Reasoning, and Sentence Correction.

What kind of questions are asked in the Quantitative Reasoning section? 
The Quantitative Reasoning section includes two question types: Problem Solving and Data Sufficiency. These questions test your ability to reason mathematically and interpret data.

Can I cancel my GMAT score? 
Yes, you have the option to cancel your GMAT score immediately after completing the exam, before viewing your unofficial scores. You can also reinstate a cancelled score within 60 days of the exam date for a fee.

How long does it take to receive my official GMAT score report? 
Official GMAT score reports are usually available within 20 calendar days of the exam date. You can access your score report online through your mba.com account.

Can I send my GMAT scores to schools after I take the exam? 
Yes, you can send your GMAT scores to schools after you take the exam. You can select up to five schools to receive your scores for free on the day of your exam, and you can send additional score reports later for a fee.
